Bladder Infections Inflammation of The Bladder Cystitis

If you feel an urgent and frequent need to urinate, you may be suffering from one of the forms of bladder infections. It may get accompanied with slight or sever pain, depending on the severity of the disease, or stinging while passing urine.

Cystitis is usually the consequence of an infection in the bladder. However, it may be caused by damage that is done to the organ or irritation. The cause always remains the bacteria and may be known as ‘bacterial cystitis’ as well.

It is serious to note that if any of the infections in the bladder is untreated for long time, it may result in kidney infections at the later stages. The infection does not spare either male or females. However, it has been seen that it is generally found in women. There is a reason behind it since women have a short urethra; the opening of the same is located close to the anus.

Interestingly, it has also been established that many infections are also caused due to stress. This infection is also caused due to prolonged stress in a patient.

As far as women are concerned, almost all women will develop cystitis at least once during their lifetime. Suffering from it again and again is called as recurrent cystitis. However, it is more prevalent in pregnant women, sexually active women, and post-menopausal women, especially after the menopause.

However, if any of the bladder infections is caused to the male, it may prove more dangerous compared to the women. It is because underlying bladder or prostate infection results in serious diseases, which is known as prostatitis. It may also be caused due to an obstruction in the urinary tract, which may be termed as a tumor, or an enlarged prostate.

In fact, cases of mild cystitis are usually solved on their own in not more than 4 to9 days. One can get any of the bladder infections, especially the Cystitis treated at home by consuming plenty of water. The quantity may vary according weight; however it is usually around 1.2 l or 6-8 glasses every day. It may be accompanied with taking painkillers such as paracetamol and ibuprofen. In case, one is suffering from severe cystitis, he or she may experience severe abdominal pain or fever. That is the stage when one needs thorough treatment along with antibiotics. In order to prevent any of the bladder infections is strongly recommended to consume plenty of water accompanied with salads containing more water content.
