Professional Skin Care Products

One of the most successful areas of health and beauty is professional skin care products. which is not surprising because we are all living longer and fuller lives so why shouldn’t we want to look younger? This group of beauty products generally works by enabling the synthesis of collagen, the main protein of connective tissue in animals and the most abundant in our body; collagen makes up approximately 25 percent of the total protein in the skin. This area of anti-ageing treatments is connected to another group of products that help people to look young; we call them antioxidants, they aid the repair of cell damage associated with cell damage.

One of the best known anti-oxidants is vitamin C and despite continual research, no-one body involved can decide just exactly how much our body should consume on a daily basis. Skin care treatments that are based on vitamin C, pose the problem of becoming oxidized themselves as they come into contact with air during their usage.

To overcome this problem, manufacturers use alternative skin care treatments that still provide the same benefits but not the high manufacturing costs. Although these products are good, they cannot actually compare with vitamin C but fortunately vitamin E and alpha-lipoic acid are also anti-oxidants so can be used to gain the same effect.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant and component of human blood whose purpose is to help increase the body’s immune system; it has been linked to resistance to a number of conditions including certain types of cancer. Lipoic acid is found in every single human cell and helps provide energy; it is also known to combat the signs of aging very effectively by repairing skin damage caused by the aging process.

Phytochemicals form the other category of anti-ageing skin care products which are special chemicals that are extracted from plants with a variety of that are used in skin care today. Like lipoic acid, phytochemicals help reduce the occurrence of cancers; examples of these are:

Prostate Cancer in Men
Cancer of the Breast
Cancer of the Bowel

These types of cancer are also becoming some of the most prevalent worldwide.

Other vitamins from the B group are also used in anti-ageing skin care like vitamins B5, B6 and B12 for example. The use of anti-ageing skin care products is a huge scientific field to research and has far greater potential than just producing goods that reduce the visible signs of age. There is no doubt that what has been learned so far is only a small part of the jigsaw puzzle; each year, more is learnt about this topic so reducing the effects of age on the body is just a matter of time.

There may be many challenges still to overcome but in time scientists believe they will succeed in producing more effective anti-ageing skin care products that are less expensive and available to more people. Scientific research into anti-aging products is still in the early stages but they should never be relied upon; fortunately there is a number of natural anti-aging regimes that can be carried out that do not rely on science. Natural methods are known, but few people actually follow them; what proportion of the population actually eats healthily, takes plenty of exercise, drink sufficient water and obtain restful and regular sleep?
